First of all - hello, I'm new here and from the UK.
Our Jessie (15 year old xbreed) had abit of an accident a few weeks ago - the wind blew a door into her face, at the time it didn't seem to hurt her, but the following day her eye was full of blood, we took her to the vets and he said she had a burst blood vessel in the eye - gave her a steriod injection and eye drops which seemed to clear it up, but unfortunatly the blood vessel burst again (three times in total). It doesnt seem to irritate Jessie and in herself she seems fine, but we are aware whilst there is blood in her eye she can't see clearly. The thing is the vet has said this can't continue to happen and she may need her eye out - but on the other had he is saying age is against her. Jessie is in excellent health, she is very active and playful, loves her food and enjoys life - she doesn't even look like a 15 year old dog. She suffered a stroke earlier this year and has fully recovered.
I have checked with a couple of rottie sites (my other 2 dogs are rottweilers) but no one has experienced anything like this before.
Has anyone any experience of a burst blood vessels in the eye ? Any advice would be appreciated.
