My dog frequently sits on her butt and spins in circles. When she finally stops she sniffs the area. Is this due to an itchy butt or some medical problem like worms?

I can not say for sure but dogs do that when they have worms though.

Yea ive heard that when they do that they haev worms. Get it checked out or buy some product from the pet shop .they have wide ranges.

You should never just "buy some product from the pet store" You have no way of knowing what parasites the dog may have without seeing it through a microscope as many are not visable tot he naked eye.

All worming medicines are toxic - so you may be giving the dog a posion for something it doesn't have while not treating what it does.

i suggest taking your dog to the vet to have a fecal exam.your vet will then either prescribe medication for the type of worms your dog has or they may run further tests just in case it is a different problem.if worms are not the case, i would take your dog to the groomers to have her anal glands drained.ask your groomer if you can watch and learn how to do it yourself.but always take caution when you do do it on your own because this is a very sensitive area and you could hurt your dog.
