Omaha Dog Groomer
Our Omaha Dog Groomer told us about the different grooming precautions pet owners must have when grooming their own dogs. He said it was very important the dog owner have complete control over the situation when grooming his or her dog. When grooming your dog it is important the dog knows he is not allowed to threaten his owner and that he cannot bite or become aggressive. If it were to occur, make sure to put a muzzle on the dog immediately as this will teach the dog that he is not allowed to act aggressively. If the dog calms down the owner can then remove the muzzle from the dog. The owner will need to praise the dog if he calms down to reinforce this good behavior. It is important dog owners keep their eyes open since not all dogs show their aggressive purposes clearly. Be careful with dogs that lick their mouths or worse yet, your hands because it is a signal of discomfort and it means he does not like what you are doing to him. A dog that does this might bite, so be watchful. Putting a muzzle on a dog will ensure a pet owners safety if the dog is not completely relaxed and starts to act aggressively. There are certain items we use to groom our dogs that sometimes scare them such as electric buzzers, hair dryers etc, so it is important to get the dog used to hearing these noises by not placing them directly on his body yet but allowing him to listen to the sounds first. Our Omaha Dog Groomer highlighted on the importance of having full control over the situation.
