Canine Dental Hygiene Recipe for Dog

If you didn't know it, dogs are prone to tartar. Some more than others. It seems for some reason to depend on the breed of your dog or genetics. Some dogs are tartar free all their lives. If you see that your dog accumulates tartar, you need to increase the amount of crunchy foods that you are giving him or her and brushing will also be required. It's necessary to brush some dog's teeth once a month while others need to brush once a week. There is also special dog toothpaste, which you can acquire from veterinarians. This toothpaste contains a peroxide solution that assists in dissolving the tartar your dog's teeth may build up. Special dog toothbrushes are also available in stores as well as from veterinarians.

Most dogs do not enjoy the idea of getting their teeth brushed. It's recommended to do this only one tooth at a time, or to just do a small area. Try to teach your dog to put up with cleaning just a few teeth, rather than fighting with him to brush all his teeth at once. Doing this will only make your dog decide not to let him get close to his mouth again. Be gentle about brushing a dog's teeth and introduce this to him slowly. He might even eventually enjoy the attention he gets.
